As much as I love showcasing my creative process on stream, Twitch’s custom emote feature opens new opportunities for me as an artist and allows me to help content creators express themselves in a way that best resonates with their community.
Through emote commissions, I work closely with creators to ensure I capture their unique personality and brand. I start by asking questions about their favourite emojis, colours, existing channel emotes, and a list of expressions they’d like me to explore. Once I’ve gathered enough ideas, I create a “Sketch Sheet," a visual preview of what the emote could look like before moving on to vector art and/or animation.
This process ensures that the final emote is not only a reflection of the creator’s personality but also something their community can connect with and enjoy.
